About the Role

In this part-time role, you will serve as an Adoption Consultant, providing expert guidance and compassionate support to families throughout the domestic adoption process. At your core, you will act as an experienced guide, advocate, and resource, ensuring families feel informed, confident, and supported from their first questions through welcoming their child home and beyond.

This is a meaningful, client-centered role designed for a consultant who thrives in deep, relationship-based work while managing a steady, defined caseload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of approximately up to 20 active clients at a time.

  • Educate prospective adoptive families about the domestic adoption process, including timelines, requirements, and expectations now and as adoptive parents.

  • Guide families through The Adoption Roadmap, our four-step proprietary model.

  • Build trusting, empathy-driven relationships with adoptive parents and adoption professionals.

  • Offer emotional support and resources as families navigate uncertainty, decision-making, and the emotional impact of adoption.

  • Serve as a liaison between adoptive families and adoption professionals to facilitate a smooth and efficient process.

  • Keep timely and accurate notes inside our CRM Dubsado and project management software, Asana.

  • Stay current on domestic adoption laws, policies, and emerging best practices, upholding ethical and transparent practices.

  • When matches disrupt or unexpected challenges arise, provide steady, grounded support, helping families process grief, regroup, and continue their journey.

What Success Looks Like

  • Families feel informed, supported, and cared for throughout every step of the adoption journey.

  • Communication is consistent, clear, and compassionate, building trust with clients and partners.

  • Documentation is timely, accurate, and organized within our CRM.

  • The CEO can confidently delegate client support, trusting in your judgment and care for families.

  • When challenges arise, you remain calm, clear, and thoughtful, helping families find their footing.

  • Performance may be evaluated based on KPIs including client satisfaction, responsiveness, organization, documentation, and referrals.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred 

  • In-depth knowledge of domestic adoption processes, legal frameworks, and emotional complexities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build empathy-driven relationships.

  • Advocate for open adoption.

  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism and discretion.
