While looking at the agenda for our local area adoption conference, I saw Rebecca Gruenspan listed as a speaker and reached out to her. From the time we started working with RG Adoption Consulting, Rebecca responded to us quickly and was available at times that fit our schedules. The best thing about working with Rebecca was her positive and enthusiastic attitude…but more importantly, we have a beautiful baby boy!
After waiting a year and a half with a local adoption agency with no activity, we decided to give the adoption process our all for one more year. We have friends that adopted quickly using a consultant, so we decided to explore that avenue as well and are so happy we did.
With Rebecca’s guidance, we spent a few months updating our profile and hoped that would help dramatically. Rebecca’s knowledge, passion, and commitment to us was evident throughout the process and when we finally began applying to agencies and submitting our profile to specific adoption situations, we were quite shocked to be matched with our son’s birth mom in just two months!
Unfortunately, she wasn’t due for over six months, which felt like an eternity to wait, but it gave us time to get to know each other. We communicated using letters, phone, Skype and FaceTime and were even able to be virtually present at some ultrasound appointments.
We received a call at 6pm that our birth mom was in labor and we were on a plane to Arizona by 10pm. Our son was born before we even got on the plane and we finally met him in person at 2am, along with the birthmom, her mom, and her aunt. Over the coming days, we got to know more of the family and even spent time with them again before returning home. Rebecca was there throughout the entire process, checking in to see how she could help and being our advocate and friend.
If it wasn’t for RG Adoption Consulting, we would not have our wonderful new addition and we are forever grateful.
